I really enjoy when other bloggers or Instagrammers do this type of post, so I saved up some empties to share with you all. I think that if you use something up, that’s the truest sign that you love it. Well..that and this other question – if you lost something tomorrow, would you go purchase it again at full price immediately? If yes, that also means you love it. ALSO- Nordstrom has a recycling program for empty cosmetics containers, so that is where I will be taking all of these! What a great initiative.
- First item on this list is the first bottle of Prose shampoo that I tried. You get to take a quiz about your hair type and hair concerns and they send a formula specifically made for your hair type and goals. At some point I will do a full review of the brand/products but overall, I’m very neutral. The first bottle was gifted to me by the brand and I ordered a second bottle (with my own money). I like that the brand followed up and asked what I liked and disliked about the formula and my second bottle of the shampoo is a little better than the first! That said, I am still on the hunt for my miracle shampoo and I’m trying the brand Davines next. This shampoo was fine and I like that there are no sulfates, etc. BUT it didn’t transform my hair in any way. I can’t tell much of a difference from using Tresemme, which was the drugstore shampoo I used before, and Prose is probably six times the price of Tresemme.
- Second product is Nudestix foundation, which you can see I cut the top of in order to get the last bit out. I think I must have gotten ten more uses out of the foundation by cutting the top. I love the sheer and natural look it provides. It’s very low coverage, but it gives me just what I need to not look like I’m wearing makeup but still make things more polished. I think part of the reason I like it so much is that the color match and the undertone match are just perfect for my skin, and I don’t think I’ve found such a perfect match for me in any other foundation. It’s fairly moisturizing and it dries dewy/satin, I believe. Not matte at all. They say don’t fix what’s not broken, so I purchased a second bottle. Actually to be honest, I purchased a second bottle months ago because I didn’t ever want to be without this foundation! So yeah..I’m a big fan.
- The La Roche Posay sunscreen is third on my list and I’m a fan. I like the brand’s chemical version of this sunscreen more than this one which is a physical sunscreen, BUT I want to use physical sunscreens only going forward. This one has a bit of white cast to it, but I do like the mattifying effect. In fact, I think it’s the most mattifying physical sunscreen I’ve ever tried, which is good. I’m currently using an Elta MD tinted sunscreen that is also quite good.
- The next product is the Nars radiant creamy concealer which I got in the mini size so long ago. I think this was the best shade available for me at the time and to be honest, I never felt like it looked very natural on. I don’t know if it was the texture or the color, but I feel like you could just tell I was wearing concealer when I used this. It gave my under eyes a grey-ish look, but the next darker shade was too dark for my under eyes. I have a couple other concealers I like a lot better now including one from Cle de Peau that is the absolute best concealer I’ve ever used.
- Final product is the Neutrogena HydroBoost moisturizer which I love and re-purchased. I have oily skin and this works really well for me. Again, don’t fix what’s not broken, right? I think I’m now on my third or fourth tub. My only wish is that they would make it in a pump form rather than a tub where you have to stick your finger in because I feel like it can get unhygienic if you don’t wash your hands immediately before sticking them in the tub.
