I really enjoy when other bloggers or Instagrammers do this type of post, so I saved up some empties to share with you all. I think that if you use something up, that’s the truest sign that you love it. Well..that and this other question – if you lost something tomorrow, would you go purchase it again at full price immediately? If yes, that also means you love it. ALSO- Nordstrom has a recycling program for empty cosmetics containers, so that is where I will be taking all of these! What a great initiative.
La Roche Posay hydrating gentle cleanser – it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and I love that. I have repurchased and am on my second bottle. If you like that tingly tight feeling, this isn’t for you, but if you have sensitive or dry skin, I think this is great. I actually have oily skin, but I think cleansers that strip my skin of all oil send it into overdrive and my skin then compensates by producing even more oil.
Beauty Counter Vitamin C Serum – I won’t be repurchasing. It felt sticky on my skin, so that’s an immediate no. I have nearly finished it up, and I’m glad to have moved on to a serum that’s less sticky.
Living Proof Dry Shampoo – If you asked me 6 months ago, I would have said this was the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used. I bought one more extra-large sized bottle of it. I still think it’s fantastic BUT Living Proof recently came out with a new dry shampoo in a silver bottle and that one is EVEN better. It has a lighter scent and it somehow gets the hair cleaner. I’ve partnered with the brand Batiste in the past to promote their dry shampoo, and while theirs is the best drugstore dry shampoo I’ve used, I reach for Living Proof when I really want to look good. For day to day in the hospital, Batiste’s brown dry shampoo is more budget friendly. But hands down Living Proof has the best dry shampoos on the market.
Prose Shampoo – This was my second bottle and I don’t get the hype. There is nothing wrong with the shampoo- it’s good. But at its price, it’s not worth it for me. I wanted a shampoo that would prevent my hair from getting oily for 2 days. This did not do that, even after I asked the brand to update my formula. I know that what I’m asking for is nearly impossible because my hair just gets oily quickly. I don’t fault the brand, but the shampoo didn’t work any miracles, so I won’t keep paying for it. I really liked the scent I chose, and I like the ingredients in it. But on to the next shampoo, still searching for something magical.
Hdyroboost moisturizer and sunscreen – I love the Hydroboost line. This is probably my fourth or fifth tub of the moisturizer and I think it’s as good as any luxury moisturizers like Peter Thomas Roth’s water drop moisturizer. It doesn’t make me too oily, but it definitely hydrates. The sunscreen, however, made my skin too oily throughout the day, so I won’t be repurchasing that.
