How to save your balayage/highlights at the end of summer
After a summer of plenty of sunlight, my balayage had gotten significantly lighter, and I didn’t want to go get it toned. I’ll probably just dye the whole thing darker once it gets a lot colder out, but for now, I still want this balayage- I just want it a little darker. So, I’ve been using the John Frieda Visibly Deeper Colour Deepening Treatment and also their Brilliant Brunette Color Glaze treatment. They add some color back in to your hair, and you use them in the shower.
A Dry Shampoo for Brunettes
I’ve never been a huge fan of dry shampoo because when I use it, you can literally see white powder in my dark hair. Yes, the powder absorbs oil, but it’s not really that helpful if the powder is visible. This Batiste shampoo is dark brown, and looks SO much better in dark hair than the normal white dry shampoo. This is the first time I’ve been able to use dry shampoo, and it’s such a time saver. Also, this is the only dark/colored dry shampoo on the market, to my knowledge.
Eyebrow Lifesaver
I get my eyebrows threaded every 2-3 weeks, and I don’t like to pluck them in between getting them done (it looks so much cleaner and sharper if you don’t). In the last few days before I go to get them threaded, I’ve got to be honest, I look pretty ratchet. So to help the situation, I put a little concealer above and below the brow to camouflage the tiny hairs growing in. It’s super helpful, and if you don’t believe me, see the before and after photo:
